Attempted Robbery at Baymont Inn & Suites
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating an attempted armed robbery, this morning.
On May 4, 2023, at 8:51 a.m., officers responded to 2815 Candlers Mountain Road, where the clerk advised a man, armed with a knife came behind the service counter demanding money. The man is described as a white male wearing a brown jacket, green hat, dark pants, and white shoes. He has been identified as Donald Maciver (59) of Brookneal.
Maciver fled the area in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee displaying Virginia license: TVM-7888. The Jeep has a roof mounted kayak rack and white stickers in the rear window. He was last seen travelling on Candlers Mountain Road in the direction of 460.
Maciver is wanted in relation to this incident for: Attempted Robbery with the Use of a Deadly Weapon. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Maciver is asked to contacted the Lynchburg Police Department.
