Barricade Situation in the 1600–block of Pierce Street
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a reported assault that led to a barricade in the 1600–block of Pierce Street last night.
On March 6, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1600–block of Pierce Street for a reported assault of two individuals. After LPD arrived on scene they found two adult females who reported they were assaulted by a male, who they knew. The victims also reported the male had been observed with firearms inside the residence. Both females had minor injuries and were treated by Lynchburg Fire Department medics.
The suspect, Carroll E. Williams, was last seen inside a home in the 1600-block of Pierce Street and barricaded himself in the attic. LPD’s Tactical Unit, Drone Team, and Crisis Negotiations Team responded to assist patrol officers. After five hours, Williams was taken into custody, without incident. After Williams was taken into custody, during a search of the residence, officers did locate and seize a firearm.
Carroll E. Williams (28), of Lynchburg, was charged with the following and is being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail:
