Domestic Disturbance on Taylor Street
On December 3, 2022, at 11:24 p.m., Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services received a call from an out of state parent reporting a possible domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1500-block of Taylor Street. While on the phone with his daughter and her boyfriend, the parent heard yelling and screaming when the phone disconnected. When the parent was not able to get her back on the phone, he called police to request a welfare check at the residence.
Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded and spoke with the female in question as well as the male involved. During the investigation, officers entered the residence and detained the man by using handcuffs. At the conclusion of the investigation, the man was released and no charges were filed.
The man who was detained later posted on social media about his interaction with the LPD. The LPD takes all reported domestic-related calls for service seriously in an effort to ensure the safety of those involved. All incidents of this nature are reviewed by the department to ensure an appropriate response.
No further information will be released due to the nature of the incident.
