Murder Suspect Arrested in Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va. – On Friday, December 1, 2023, the Lynchburg Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit and Special Investigations Unit received information from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office for a wanted subject in the city. With the assistance of the Violent Crime Response Team and patrol officers, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1200-block of Rivermont Avenue. During the stop, Dominique Morgan (33) of Lynchburg, was located as a passenger in the stopped vehicle. Morgan had outstanding warrants out of North Carolina for 1st Degree Murder. Morgan was initially uncooperative with officers but surrendered a short time later and was taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the vehicle, and a handgun was located.
In addition to being served with the outstanding 1st Degree Murder Warrant out of North Carolina, Morgan was charged with the following:

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
