[UPDATE 2] Suspect Arrested in Cornerstone Street Homicide
LYNCHBURG, Va.- Derek Allen Lewis was taken into custody in Jacksonville, Florida around 2:00 p.m., today.
Lewis was taken into custody at the Jacksonville International Airport without incident and is being held in Florida pending extradition proceedings.
LPD thanks the many citizens who cooperated with detectives working this investigation and/or provided tips on Lewis’ whereabouts. We would also like to thank our local law enforcement partners, the United States Marshals Service, Jacksonville Police Department and Jacksonville Airport Police for their assistance.
