[UPDATE] Suspect in custody in connection with the Malicious Wounding at Miller Park
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) has identified one suspect in the Miller Park Malicious Wounding incident last night.
LPD’s Criminal Investigations and Forensic Units responded to the scene to assist with this investigation. During an initial investigation, a firearm was recovered in the car driven to the hospital by the victim.
After further investigation, it was determined that one of the adult males with a gunshot wound, later identified as Dikembe’ D. Jones (20) was a suspect. Jones remains at Lynchburg General Hospital (LGH) and has been charged with the following:
- Malicious Wounding
- Use or Display of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
- Attempted Robbery- Causing Serious Bodily Harm
The victim, an adult male, also remains at LGH with non-life-threatening injuries.
