Captain Campbell is a Lynchburg area native and has been with the Lynchburg Police Department since 2005. He has been promoted through the ranks to his current assignment as Captain over Field Operations Bureau I. Captain Campbell has served in many roles during his career including: Patrol, the Street Crimes Unit, Special Investigations, Criminal Investigations, and the Tactical Unit. Captain Campbell received a Meritorious Service Medal in 2021 for his work to reduce violent crime in the city.
Captain Campbell has a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Liberty University. He has also completed several leadership programs to include: The Institute for Leadership in Changing Times and the Administrative Officers Management Program through N.C. State University, and the Professional Executive Leadership School through the University of Richmond.
