LPD Officers Swiftly Locate and Arrest Purse Thief
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 12:45 PM today, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) received a report of an armed robbery in the 2100 block of Park Avenue. An adult female was attempting to use a public restroom when she was approached by a 17-year-old male suspect. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a handgun and took the victim’s purse.
Thanks to the quick response and thorough search efforts by LPD, the suspect was located and arrested within just 20 minutes of the initial report. Upon arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a pellet gun closely resembling a real firearm.
The suspect was transported to a juvenile detention facility where he awaits formal charges.
