Lynchburg Police Department Responds to Bomb Threat at Linkhorne Middle School
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 10:15 AM today, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to a report of a suspicious letter found in the boys’ restroom at Linkhorne Middle School. Upon investigation, the letter was determined to be a bomb threat.
LPD officers quickly conducted a thorough investigation, which led to the arrest of an 11-year-old male juvenile. He has been charged with making threats to bomb a school/structure.
The LPD assures the community that there is no ongoing threat to student safety in this matter. The department takes all threats directed toward students and school staff very seriously and will continue to conduct thorough investigations into such incidents.
We are grateful for the swift action and cooperation of Lynchburg City Schools and the administration at Linkhorne Middle School. Our priority is always the safety of our students and staff.
