Two arrested at E.C. Glass High School
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a trespassing incident at E.C. Glass High School that occurred this morning.
On May 2, 2024, at 6:59 a.m., LPD officers responded to 2111 Memorial Avenue, E.C. Glass for a report of two male trespassers. Upon arrival, LPD officers began searching the school grounds and located the two male individuals and took them into custody. The two males, 17 and 18 years of age, are current students at E.C. Glass.
Both were charged with the following:
- 18.2-128 Trespassing on School Property
- 18.2-121 Entering Property of Another for Purpose of Damaging
Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) dismissed students and staff around 8:04 a.m., out of an abundance of caution.
LPD requested assistance from Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) and Virginia State Police (VSP). Both agencies provided K-9 units trained in explosive detection to assist with searching the school grounds. After the search was completed, the school was determined to be safe.
LPD would like to thank LUPD, VSP, and LCS for their assistance with this investigation.
