LPD Arrests Suspect in 2015 Shooting
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) has made an arrest in connection with a shooting from April 2015.
On Saturday, April 11, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., LPD officers responded to reports of a shooting at the River Loft Apartments located at 1001 Jefferson Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
While initial leads in 2015 did not result in an immediate arrest, LPD detectives actively maintained the investigation over the next eleven years.
As a result of the ongoing investigation and collaboration with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science, detectives recently identified a primary suspect.
On September 10, 2026, LPD detectives located and arrested 28-year-old Lynchburg resident Kaleb Braxton. Braxton has been charged with the following: Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Attempted Robbery.
Braxton is currently being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
