Website Accessibility Statement
The Lynchburg Police Department is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users. Our site is currently undergoing review and redesign to meet or exceed the accessibility requirements outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and Section 255 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended.
We appreciate your patience during this process. If you have comments, concerns, or suggestions for improving accessibility, please contact John Hartzell at john.hartzell@lynchburgva.gov
Adobe Acrobat PDF Files
Many of the documents available on the Lynchburg Police Department website are provided in HTML or ASCII formats, which are generally accessible to individuals using screen readers. Some documents, however, are available in PDF format to preserve the layout and appearance of printed materials.
To view or print PDF files, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 4.0 or higher), which can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe’s website.
Users of screen-reading software may need an accessibility plug-in to read PDF documents effectively. This plug-in, also available for free from Adobe, enables screen readers to access the content of PDF files. Adobe also provides online tools that can convert PDF documents into HTML format upon request.
Microsoft PowerPoint and Word Files
Documents on this site may also be available in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) or Microsoft Word (DOC) formats.
-
You can view PowerPoint presentations if you have Microsoft PowerPoint installed, or you may download the free PowerPoint Viewer available from Microsoft.

Word documents can be viewed with Microsoft Word (version 6.0 or higher) or with most word processing software. A free Word Viewer is also available from Microsoft.
