Arrest Made in Multi-Agency Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation
Lynchburg, VA – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) in collaboration with the Halifax Integrated Criminal Investigation Division in Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency, have made an arrest in a Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) investigation.
As part of an ongoing investigation, LPD arrested Cole Gorrill, 22, of Prince Edward Island, Canada in Lynchburg on February 6, 2026.
Gorrill was charged with the following and is being held without bond:
• § 18.2-374.1:1 – Possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography
• § 18.2-374.3 – Use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children
This investigation highlights the continued collaboration amongst law enforcement partners committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable. The LPD extends its appreciation to all partner agencies for their diligence and cooperation.

Reports are reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation.
