Attempted Malicious Wounding on Wiggington Road
LYNCHBURG Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 100-block of Wiggington Road on Monday.
On January 29, at 2:37 p.m., LPD officers responded to Wiggington Road for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, within minutes, they located the suspect and victim.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that the suspect and victim knew each other. It appears the two had a verbal altercation that led to the shooting. No injuries were reported. This was an isolated event and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
LPD Officers arrested and charged Nicholas A. Hubbard (32) of Lynchburg with Attempted Malicious Wounding, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, and Shooting Within City Limits. Hubbard was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and is being held without bond.
