Bomb Threat at E.C. Glass High School
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a bomb threat at E.C. Glass High School that occurred this morning.
On March 1, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., LPD officers responded to 2111 Memorial Avenue, E.C. Glass for the report of a bomb threat. Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) initially placed E.C. Glass on restricted entry and exit before students and staff were dismissed around 1200 p.m., out of an abundance of caution.
LPD requested assistance from Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) and Virginia State Police (VSP). Both agencies provided K-9 units trained in explosive detection to assist with searching the school grounds. After the search was completed, the school was determined to be safe.
LPD would like to thank LUPD, VSP, and LCS for their assistance with this investigation.
