Bomb Threat at Heritage High School
LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a bomb threat that occurred yesterday morning.
On March 3, 2026, LPD officers were notified of a bomb threat at 3103 Wards Ferry Rd., Heritage High School. Upon arrival, LPD immediately began an investigation into the matter, and after working with Lynchburg City Schools’ leadership, the threat was determined not to be credible.
As a result of the preliminary investigation, LPD was able to quickly identify a possible suspect and searched a residence in the 700 block of Monroe Street.
There are no charges at this time.
LPD would like to thank the Lynchburg City Schools staff for their cooperation throughout this incident. We take all threats seriously and prioritize the safety of our community above all else. The close partnership between LCS and LPD is instrumental in addressing matters like these when they arise.
