Fatal Accident Involving Two Vehicles on US-460

 

 

Lynchburg, VA – On September 4, 2024, at 12:23 AM, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) and Lynchburg Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident on US-460 east near Campbell Avenue. Upon arrival LPD found one vehicle on it’s side and one vehicle that came to a rest facing the wrong direction. The male driver of the vehicle that rolled, 36 YO Jose Federico Ramos Alvarez, was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital where he later passed away as a result of his injuries.  The two female occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. LPD is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the incident or have information that could assist with the investigation.
