Firearms Violation at E.C. Glass High School
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a firearms violation at E.C. Glass High School that occurred yesterday.
On March 24, 2026, at 3:45 p.m., LPD officers responded to 2111 Memorial Avenue, E.C. Glass for a report of a student with a firearm. Upon arrival, LPD officers immediately notified Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) and began an investigation. After working with the LCS leadership, LPD quickly identified the student.
As a result of the preliminary investigation, LPD was able to confirm that a juvenile male brought a BB gun onto school property after school hours. No threats were made, and no one was injured.
There are no charges at this time.
LPD would like to thank the Lynchburg City Schools staff for their cooperation throughout this incident. We take all potential threats seriously and prioritize the safety of our community above all else. The close partnership between LCS and LPD is instrumental in addressing matters like these when they arise.
