LFD and LPD Arrest Arson and Burglary Suspect
Lynchburg, VA – On April 2, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD) and the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to a combined report of arson and burglary on Memorial Avenue.
While on a proactive patrol, an LPD officer observed a fire at Dragon Fire Games, located at 3102 Memorial Avenue, and immediately notified LPD’s Emergency Communications Center.
LFD crews arrived on scene and quickly contained the fire. Preliminary investigation by the Fire Marshal suggests the fire was intentional. Evidence was collected from the scene and will be sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science. In addition to the property damage, the business reported several items stolen. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, Donald Collier, 35, of Lynchburg was arrested on the following charges: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, arson, burglary, and grand larceny.
Collier is being held without bond.
