LPD Arrests Armed Suspect After Multiple Charges Stemming from Domestic Incident
Lynchburg, VA – On June 14, 2025, Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident involving a firearm in the 900 block of Pierce Street. A 35-year-old male, Keenan Perkins, allegedly brandished a firearm at his girlfriend and her children before firing multiple rounds into the air. Perkins fled the scene before officers arrived.
In connection with the case, officers also secured and executed a search warrant for a residence in the 900 block of Pierce Street in an effort to locate Perkins and the firearm used in the offense. The residence was cleared, and Perkins was not located at that time.
After several days of active investigation and search efforts, LPD officers located and arrested Keenan Perkins on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. He is now formally charged with:
§ 18.2-280 – Willfully discharging firearms in public places
§ 18.2-57 – Assault and battery
§ 18.2-282 – Brandishing a firearm or similar object
§ 18.2-308.2 – Possession of firearm by a convicted felon
