LPD Arrests Man for Malicious Wounding
LYNCHBURG, Va. – On July 27, 2026, at approximately 1:25 p.m., the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) and the Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD) responded to the 1300 block of Church Street for a report of Trouble Unknown.
Upon arrival, officers determined that an adult male was injured by an edged weapon during an altercation with another adult male. LFD provided care and transported the victim to Lynchburg General Hospital. The victim is in stable condition.
This appears to be an isolated incident, and investigators believe the involved parties were known to each other.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Victor Volkers, Jr., 44, of Lynchburg, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.
