LPD Arrests Man for Malicious Wounding
LYNCHBURG, Va. – On March 8, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to the 1300 block of Main Street for a report of a fight.
Witnesses reported observing a fight between two adult males. The adult male victim was struck with a blunt object, sustaining injuries. The victim transported himself to the hospital for treatment. The suspect left the scene in his vehicle immediately following the incident.
Through the investigation, LPD officers identified the suspect vehicle description and license plate. Within a few hours, officers were notified through an Automatic License Plate Recognition alert that the vehicle returned to the area of Main Street. Officers in the area were able to locate the vehicle. Following officers’ visual observation and database verification, they initiated a traffic stop and arrested the suspect, identified as Dennis White, 65, of Madison Heights, VA. White was charged with Malicious Wounding and is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
Officers determined the involved parties were previously known to each other, and this is an isolated incident.
