LPD Investigating Shooting on Madison Street
LYNCHBURG, Va. – On September 6, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) and Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD) responded to a report of a malicious wounding in the 600 block of Madison Street.
Upon arrival, officers immediately made contact with an adult male who had sustained a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The individual was transported by LFD to Lynchburg General Hospital.
At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
