LPD Makes Arrest Following Two Burglaries
Lynchburg, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) has made an arrest following two separate breaking and entering incidents at the same business earlier this month.
LPD officers first responded to LB Tobacco and Vape Shop, 3207 B Forest Brook Road, on February 6, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m. for a reported breaking and entering. Officers responded to the same location again on February 21, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m. for a second incident. In both cases, the suspect caused property damage and stole merchandise.
On February 21, 2026, LPD officers deployed a K-9 team in an effort to locate the suspect. The track led officers to a residence in the 2600 block of Confederate Avenue.
As a result of the investigation, Anthony Hamilton, 21, of Lynchburg, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- § 18.2-96 – Petit Larceny – 4 Counts
- § 18.2-91 – Breaking and Entering – 2 Counts
- § 18.2-178 – Obtaining Money by False Pretenses
Hamilton is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
