Lynchburg City Schools and Lynchburg Police Department Respond to Alleged Threat
Lynchburg, VA – Earlier this morning around 8 AM, Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) staff contacted the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) regarding a reported threat related to the Heritage vs. E.C. Glass High School basketball game scheduled for tonight.
LPD immediately launched an investigation, working closely with LCS to assess the situation thoroughly.
We take all threats seriously and prioritize the safety of our community above all else. The close partnership between LCS and LPD is instrumental in addressing matters like these when they arise.
Out of an abundance of caution, LCS rescheduled tonight’s game. LPD is continuing the investigation to ensure that all appropriate measures are taken.
