Lynchburg Police Department Investigates Malicious Wounding on Memorial Avenue
The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a malicious wounding that occurred early this morning in the 2500 block of Memorial Ave.
At approximately 1:03 a.m., LPD officers and Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD) personnel responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired inside a gaming establishment.
Upon arrival, LPD officers and LFD personnel located an adult male who had been struck by gunfire. The victim was transported by the LFD to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
Through the initial investigation, officers learned that the suspect attempted to rob the victim and a physical altercation occurred just prior to the shooting.
