Lynchburg, VA – On September 5th, the subject, 44-year-old Leander Vales from Lynchburg, was arrested and charged with Robbery. No bond. He was taken into custody without incident near his residence. He is currently in the custody of the Blue Ridge Regional Jail. The investigation is ongoing. We want to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.

Lynchburg Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Family Dollar
Lynchburg, VA – On September 4, 2024, at approximately 6:04 PM, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) received a report of an armed robbery at the Family Dollar located at 2029 Fort Avenue. According to information provided by an employee at the store, a suspect, described as a black male, entered the establishment and brandished a knife while demanding money.
The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as having a thin build, standing approximately 5’10” tall, and wearing black pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a black baseball hat adorned with a multicolored graphic on the front.
