Lynchburg Police Safely Apprehend Wanted Suspect After Brief Standoff
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 3:25 p.m., officers with the Lynchburg Police Department attempted to serve an arrest warrant for an adult male wanted for probation violation and felony assault, in the 1500 block of Campbell Avenue.
Upon contact with officers, the suspect, identified as Devon C. Bailey, 20, fled on foot and entered a residence, where he refused to surrender. Officers established a perimeter and began negotiations to ensure a peaceful resolution.
After a brief period of negotiations, Bailey voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody without further incident.
Bailey is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and faces charges related to his outstanding warrant.
