Malicious Wounding on Forest Brook Road
LYNCHBURG Va. — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the LB Tobacco and Vape Shop, earlier this afternoon.
On May 25, 2024 at 2:58 p.m., LPD officers responded to the LB Tobacco and Vape Shop, 3207B Forest Brook Road, for a person with a gunshot wound. Prior to officers arrival, an 18 year old male victim had already been transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that the suspect and the victim knew each other. It appears the two had a verbal altercation that led to the shooting. This incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Savon Lavay Ellis (23) of Lynchburg has been identified as the suspect and is wanted on the following charges:
- Malicious Wounding
- Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm
- Discharge a Firearm in the City
- Shooting in a Public Place Causing Injury
- Possession of a Concealed Weapon
