Malicious Wounding on Hollins Street
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) has arrested a suspect in a malicious wounding that occurred last night.
On December 28, 2023, at 10:51 p.m., LPD officers responded to the 700-block of Hollins Street for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located an adult male with a non-life-threatening stab wound. He was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.
During their investigation, officers found out that a physical altercation took place between the offender and the victim that led to the stabbing. Both the victim and the offender were known to each other.
Officers arrested Richard Valentine (41) of Seattle, Washington at the scene and charged him with Malicious Wounding. Valentine is being held without bond in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
