Malicious Wounding Reported on Langhorne Road
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 1:34 p.m. today, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) and Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD) responded to a report of a malicious wounding in the 2000 block of Langhorne Road.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Bryan Cashwell, 23, of Lynchburg, who had sustained a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Cashwell provided LPD with an initial suspect description before LFD provided care and transported him to Lynchburg General Hospital.
After a thorough investigation, which included bystander testimony and the discovery of a firearm at the scene, officers determined that the individual had accidentally shot himself. Charges are pending.
This case remains an open and active investigation.
