Serious Single-Vehicle Accident on Campbell Avenue
The male victim from the accident on Campbell Avenue on November 7th has passed away. He has been identified as Calvin Conrad Callahan Jr., 73 years old, of Concord, VA. This incident is still under investigation. The Lynchburg Police Department expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Callahan during this tragic time.

Serious Single-Vehicle Accident on Campbell Avenue
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 2:40 PM today, the Lynchburg Police Department and Lynchburg Fire Department responded to a serious single-vehicle accident in the 1600 block of Campbell Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that a vehicle traveling south on Campbell Avenue struck a bridge, flipped onto its roof, and came to rest at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Abattoir Street. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was trapped inside and had to be extricated by members of the Lynchburg Fire Department.
The driver, a 73-year-old male, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.
The accident is under investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
