Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – 1000-Block of Pierce Street
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a shooting incident that occurred early this morning.
On February 25, at 1:22 a.m., a citizen called to report their home being struck by gunfire in the 1000-block of Pierce Street. LPD officers responded to the scene, located spent cartridge casings, and identified one home that was struck by gunfire. Residents were present in the home at the time of the shooting. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
LPD officers were able to quickly identify two suspects, Antwon Jermaine Wilson (20) and Del’Quon Melik Terry (19), both of Lynchburg, and began searching for them. The suspects were located at a home in the 800-block of Pierce St. just before 2:00 a.m. and took them into custody without incident.
Wilson and Terry were transported to Blue Ridge Regional Jail where they are being held without bond on the following charges:
- Shooting into an occupied dwelling
- Defacing a serial number on a firearm
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Discharge a firearm in the city limits
This incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active and ongoing and any additional information will only be provided as an update to this news release.
