Robbery and Assault Incident at Benny’s Pizza
Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 6:16 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, the Lynchburg Police Department responded to a report of a robbery and assault at Benny’s Pizza.
The preliminary investigation indicates that 26-year-old Lynchburg resident Natavius Wells entered the business and became involved in a verbal altercation with staff. During the encounter, Wells grabbed money from the tip jar and attempted to flee the store. When confronted by employees, Wells physically assaulted an employee, throwing them to the ground and causing injury.
Several patrons followed Wells outside the business and were able to detain him until officers arrived on scene. Wells was taken into custody without further incident.
Wells has been charged with Assault and Attempted Robbery.
